[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jeong Young-gwon] The Jeonbuk Namwon City Kim Byung-jong Art Museum held a gifted creative art program at the Namwon Aerospace Astronomy Observatory on the 25th.
According to the Namwon City Kim Byung-jong Art Museum on the 28th, the gifted creative art program is an educational program conducted since the first half of the year to nurture and strengthen the abilities of art prodigies, targeting 30 elementary school students selected through a preliminary screening from the Namwon area.
This education program is held every Saturday over 8 sessions until November 20, and the first program, "Making My Own Desk Clock" (artist Seong Sambong), kicked off the second half of the classes.
The children participating in the class learned theoretical lectures to understand the concept of design spread throughout daily life and the basics of drawing, and will complete their own desk clocks developed from sketches into design forms later.
Also, from the 30th of next month, the second program "Making My Own Picture Book" (artist Oh Chi-geun) will be operated.
The children participating in this class will create a one-of-a-kind picture book in the world by following the order of storyboarding, original sketching, original coloring, and cover design drawing, centered on stories they compose themselves.
Through this process, they are expected to experience how to express stories through pictures and the basics of illustration.
A representative of the Namwon City Kim Byung-jong Art Museum said, "Our lives are surrounded by much more diverse applied arts than expected. While pure arts such as painting and sculpture remain important, it is also meaningful for children to experience the expanded art world such as design and illustration," adding, "This gifted creative art program will stimulate the imagination of local children and enhance their creativity."
