As of 1:38 PM on the 28th, the KOSPI is trading at 3101.15, down 1.04% from the previous day. The index is struggling, falling below the 3100 level. The KOSDAQ is also down 1.87%, trading at 1015.48.
Simultaneous selling by foreigners and institutions is fueling the index decline. Foreigners are net sellers of 83.5 billion KRW and 219.7 billion KRW in the two markets, respectively. Institutions have a selling bias of 461.8 billion KRW and 201.3 billion KRW. Only individuals are net buyers, with approximately 565.5 billion KRW and 425 billion KRW in buying dominance.
By sector in the KOSPI, electricity and gas (+2.62%), insurance (+2.21%), banking (+1.3%), finance (+0.74%), and chemicals (+0.64%) are rising, while pharmaceuticals (-3.18%), textiles and apparel (-2.3%), non-metallic minerals (-2.21%), paper and wood (-1.82%), and construction (-1.65%) are falling.
In the KOSDAQ, weak sectors include IT components (-3.90%), transportation equipment and parts (-2.80%), and semiconductors (-2.63%), while strong sectors are paper and wood (+0.75%), entertainment and culture (+0.26%), and food, beverages, and tobacco (+0.01%).
