Recruitment of Tenants for 5,811 Youth and Newlywed Purchase Rental Units Starts from the 30th

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 28th that it will begin recruiting tenants for the third round of youth and newlywed purchase rental housing this year starting from the 30th.


The recruitment volume is 1,248 units for youth and 4,563 units for newlyweds, totaling 5,811 units. By region, 4,294 units are in the Seoul metropolitan area, and 1,517 units are in other regions.


The units supplied this time will undergo qualification verification such as income and assets, and tenants are expected to move in as early as early December.


Youth purchase rental housing is supplied as fully equipped with home appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners, reflecting the frequent relocation situations of young people due to reasons such as study and employment, and tenants can live for up to six years at 40-50% of the market price.


Newlywed purchase rental housing is divided into Type I, with 3,512 units in multi-family houses and other types where tenants can live at 30-40% of the market price, and Type II, with 1,051 units in apartments and officetels where tenants can live at 60-80% of the market price.


In addition to newlyweds within seven years of marriage and prospective newlyweds, households raising children under six years old and general married households (Newlywed II) can also apply.


The 3,571 youth (1,108 units) and newlywed (2,463 units) purchase rental housing units recruited by Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) can be checked through the announcement posted on the LH subscription center after the 30th.


Specific tenant qualifications for the 2,240 youth and newlywed purchase rental housing units recruited by Seoul Housing & Communities Corporation (SH Corporation), Gyeonggi Housing & Communities Corporation, and Daegu Urban Corporation can be found in the announcements posted on the respective institutions' websites.


Jung Suho, head of the Housing Welfare Support Division at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, "We plan to supply more than 20,000 units this year targeting youth and newlyweds," adding, "We will secure about 30,000 new units to strengthen housing support for young generations such as university students and newlyweds."
