[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] CJ Logistics announced on the 28th that it will install ‘Yellow Footprints’ at 30 crosswalks in child protection zones such as daycare centers and elementary schools in the Gunpo area to help prevent traffic accidents, in collaboration with Good Neighbors. The installation of the ‘Yellow Footprints’ will be carried out sequentially by mid-next month through cooperation with Gunpo City Hall and Gunpo Police Station.
The ‘Yellow Footprints’ are footprint stickers attached on both sides of the sidewalk about 1 meter away from the roadway to help children maintain a safe distance while waiting at crosswalk signals. The footprint shapes stimulate children’s curiosity, encouraging them to voluntarily pause briefly or look left and right to maintain a safe distance from the roadway.
Along with the ‘Yellow Footprints,’ CJ Logistics plans to install ‘Yellow Stop Lines’ indicating pedestrian stop lines and signs to alert drivers that they are in a child protection zone, thereby enhancing the effect of preventing traffic accidents. The company will sequentially attach 60 ‘Yellow Footprints’ on both sides of 30 crosswalks in Gunpo’s child protection zones by mid-next month, together with employees, Good Neighbors, the Green Mothers’ Association, and Gunpo city volunteers.
A CJ Logistics official said, “We hope this Yellow Footprints installation project will provide a safe traffic environment for local children and further prevent traffic accidents,” adding, “We plan to continue various forms of traffic safety campaigns for coexistence with the communities where our business sites are located.”
