[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] bhc Chicken announced on the 28th that the 5th term, Team 1 of the ‘Haebaragi Volunteer Group’ participated in a non-face-to-face check-in package delivery campaign for elderly living alone in Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 24th.
This volunteer activity was planned to deliver warm hearts in a non-face-to-face manner as the number of elderly living alone who recently complain of psychological loneliness has increased due to the prolonged spread of COVID-19.
On that day, the volunteers visited the Bucheon FC Social Cooperative Secretariat to receive check-in packages including masks and hand sanitizers. In addition, the volunteers personally prepared hot packs and hand cream and directly visited 50 low-income elderly households living alone who need attention, completing the non-face-to-face delivery.
A volunteer who participated in the activity said, “I felt that communication between neighbors has recently decreased, making it a time when more attention is needed for socially marginalized groups,” and added, “I hope this volunteer work will be a time for many people to think about elderly living alone who will be lonely in the coming winter.”
