[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Orion Group announced on the 28th that it donated 10,000 gift boxes worth a total of 120 million KRW containing Orion products to military personnel in celebration of the 73rd Armed Forces Day.
The day before, Orion delivered the gift sets to the 73rd Armed Forces Day event planning team through a non-face-to-face method. The gift sets were specially made for military personnel and consisted of popular Orion snacks such as ‘Choco Pie Jeong’, ‘Poca Chip’, ‘Kkobuk Chip Choco Churros’, ‘Wacle’, and ‘My Gummy’. The packaging featured ‘Armed Forces Choco Pie Characters’ highlighting the characteristics of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, adding a special touch. Since 2017, Orion has donated gift sets worth 100 million KRW annually on Armed Forces Day for five consecutive years.
In addition to supporting Armed Forces Day, Orion has continuously carried out various activities to boost the morale of military personnel. In 2018, Orion signed a ‘Welfare and Employment Support Agreement for Military Personnel’ with the Ministry of National Defense and delivered 110,000 sets of Choco Pie to trainees at the military recruit training center. Furthermore, Orion has sponsored major military events, provided Orion products to the ARC unit stationed in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and donated 1,000 basketballs to the Army’s 1st Corps. Activities supporting the employment of discharged soldiers have also been steadily carried out.
An Orion official said, “We hope that Orion’s special gift sets can provide some strength to the military personnel who are dedicating themselves to national security despite the prolonged COVID-19 situation,” and added, “We will continue Orion’s ‘Sharing Jeong’ activities for military personnel.”
