20s Falls to Death While Cleaning Apartment Windows in Incheon After Rope Snaps on 15th Floor

[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] A man in his 20s who was cleaning the exterior glass windows of a high-rise apartment in Incheon fell to his death in an accident. It is reported that this young man met with the accident on his first day at the apartment, evoking deep sorrow.

The Metropolitan Investigation Unit of the Incheon Police Agency announced that at around 10:48 a.m. on the 27th, Mr. A (29), who was cleaning windows on the 15th floor of an apartment in Songdo International City, Yeonsu-gu, fell about 40 meters down.

Mr. A, who fell, suffered severe head injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital by the 119 emergency medical team but ultimately passed away.

Mr. A was a day laborer affiliated with a cleaning company and was sitting on a makeshift chair connected by a work rope while cleaning the windows at the time of the accident. Notably, it is reported that he had the accident on his first day of work.

The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident, including whether safety regulations were properly followed, as they believe it is highly likely that Mr. A slipped.
