The Korea Communications Standards Commission Appoints 45 Members to 5 Special Subcommittee Panels

Experts to Provide Advisory Opinions Starting October

[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] The Korea Communications Standards Commission announced on the 27th that it held a plenary meeting and appointed 45 members to five subcommittee special committees.

The experts for each subcommittee are as follows: ▲ Kim Hyung-seok, former head of strategic business at Yonhap News Agency, as chairman and eight others for the Broadcasting Advisory Special Committee ▲ Kim Kang-hyun, member of the Medical Advertising Review Committee of the Korean Oriental Medicine Association, as chairman and eight others for the Advertising Advisory Special Committee ▲ Choi Byung-chan, former director of KBS Gangneung Broadcasting Station, as chairman and eight others for the Broadcasting Language Special Committee ▲ Lee Wook-han, professor at the College of Law, Sookmyung Women's University, as chairman and eight others for the Telecommunications Advisory Special Committee ▲ Jo Myung-hee, invited professor of the Department of Video Production at Dong-Ah Institute of Media and Arts, as chairman and eight others for the Rights Protection Special Committee.

The appointment period for the special committee members appointed on this day is one year, from October 1 of this year to September 30, 2022.

The special committees of the Korea Communications Standards Commission are statutory committees established under Article 22, Paragraph 5 of the Act on the Establishment and Operation of the Korea Communications Commission, currently operating five subcommittee special committees: Broadcasting Advisory, Advertising Advisory, Broadcasting Language, Telecommunications Advisory, and Rights Protection. They are composed of experts from academia, the legal profession, the media, civic groups, and the medical field and provide advisory opinions necessary for broadcasting and telecommunications review.

The Korea Communications Standards Commission plans to hold an appointment ceremony for the special committee members of each subcommittee after October 1 for the members appointed on this day.
