Assignment to Fire Station After 15 Weeks of Completion
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon) announced on the 27th that it held the '9th New Appointee Training Course Entrance Ceremony' at the Fire Education Corps Auditorium.
On this day, 123 prospective firefighters (108 men, 15 women) who will be responsible for safety in the Jeonnam region held the entrance ceremony and began the full-scale training course.
The entrance ceremony was conducted in strict compliance with COVID-19 prevention and quarantine guidelines, proceeding in the order of trainee temperature checks, congratulatory speeches, and training course guidance.
The 9th new appointees will acquire professional knowledge necessary for performing duties such as fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services, including basic literacy, over 15 weeks until January 7 next year, after which they will be assigned to frontline fire stations.
In particular, the Fire Headquarters plans to strengthen practical training necessary for disaster site activities by newly establishing a real fire training facility (102㎡) and artificial turf on the playground (5700㎡) at the training center, investing 852 million KRW.
The trainees, who will receive training resembling real situations using the new facilities, are expected to help enhance on-site response capabilities and cultivate firefighters strong in the field.
Chief Ma Jaeyoon said, "Congratulations on taking your first step as a firefighter," and added, "I hope you become firefighters who protect and take responsibility for the lives and property of the residents through the prescribed training course."
Meanwhile, the Jeonnam Fire Education Corps is the only fire education and training institution in Jeonnam, having started educational operations in June 2017, and has produced about 10,000 graduates through specialized firefighter education and resident safety experience education to date.
