Good Neighbors Delivers 'Happiness Boxes' to 8 Elementary Schools in Gwangju Region

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Good Neighbors Honam Headquarters announced on the 27th that it delivered hygiene kits called ‘Happiness Boxes’ to eight elementary schools in the Gwangju area to support children vulnerable to infectious diseases.

At the delivery ceremony, Gu Youngcheol, principal of Daechon Jungang Elementary School and representative of the Good Neighbors Honam Headquarters’ Elementary Education Specialist Committee, attended.

The ‘Happiness Box’ was produced through a social contribution activity conducted by Hana Bank and consists of hygiene items such as masks, mask straps, hand sanitizers, and tooth brushing sets to help children maintain a healthy school life.

Hana Bank is supporting 1,024 elementary school students nationwide with ‘Happiness Boxes’ through Good Neighbors branches, including the Honam Headquarters.

Starting with this delivery ceremony, Good Neighbors Honam Headquarters plans to continuously provide supplies to reduce the burden of purchasing hygiene products for children from low-income crisis families living in Gwangju Metropolitan City and to guarantee children’s rights and healthy growth.

Gu Youngcheol, principal of Daechon Jungang Elementary School, said, “Due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, children from crisis families at school are facing many difficulties,” adding, “I believe this support will give the children great strength.”

Meanwhile, Good Neighbors Honam Headquarters has formed an Elementary Education Specialist Committee among elementary schools in Gwangju Metropolitan City and is cooperating on various projects to create child-friendly schools in Gwangju.

In addition, it is actively carrying out educational projects for children and adolescents, the future leaders, including character education, global citizenship education, and education to strengthen the capacity for rights practice, as well as campaigns to spread a culture of sharing.
