Gwangyang-si 2nd Emergency Disaster Living Expenses, 99% Distribution Rate & 70% Usage Rate Achieved

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 27th that the second emergency disaster living expenses, provided to revitalize the local economy and stabilize the difficult lives of citizens, reached a disbursement rate of 99% as of the 23rd, with 37 billion KRW distributed into the market, of which 25.8 billion KRW has been used, achieving a usage rate of 70%.

Looking at the usage status of the 25.8 billion KRW by industry, Hanaro Mart accounted for 17.1%, restaurants and general eateries 16.4%, supermarkets 13.9%, gas stations 7.5%, and others (butcher shops, agricultural and marine products stores, convenience stores, clothing and shoe stores, miscellaneous goods stores, clinics, pharmacies, academies, etc.) accounted for 45.1% in order.

The city reported that as of the 13th, the usage amount was 20.7 billion KRW, and with an excess usage of 5.1 billion KRW in 10 days, it is seen that the emergency disaster living expenses were effectively used during the Chuseok holiday.

Meanwhile, Gwangyang City originally planned to end the second emergency disaster living expenses payment on September 17, but after considering requests from citizens such as long-term absentees, the application period for the emergency disaster living expenses was extended until October 29, the same deadline as the COVID-19 coexistence national support fund application period.

Deputy Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, “We hope that citizens actively use the second emergency disaster living expenses to participate in revitalizing the local economy,” and added, “We ask that you prioritize using it at local small business owners’ and self-employed stores.”
