The Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service announced on the 27th that, following the amendment of the Electronic Signature Act which abolished the exclusive status of the public certificate, it will start a simple authentication service from this month. Accordingly, anyone who obtains one of the private certificates such as Kakao, Telecom PASS, Samsung PASS, KB Kookmin Bank, or Payco will be able to use simple authentication login on the Employment and Industrial Accident Insurance Total Service site.

The Employment and Industrial Accident Insurance Total Service is the representative online electronic civil service window of the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service for reporting and processing employment insurance and industrial accident insurance tasks online. It provides a one-stop service that eliminates the need to separately report about 230 types of unique reports of the corporation and 7 types of common reports for the four major social insurances, 7 types of certificate issuance, and job stability fund support applications. It is a social insurance electronic civil service used by about 60,000 people daily and about 22 million people annually on average.

Previously, to report civil complaints, check receipt, and processing status on the Employment and Industrial Accident Insurance Total Service, users had to log in only through a public certificate, which was inconvenient. Going forward, it is expected that user convenience and accessibility will improve with the application of simple authentication.

Kang Soonhee, Director of the Corporation, said, "We expect that the application of simple authentication will make it easier and more convenient to use the Employment and Industrial Accident Insurance Total Service," adding, "We will continue to expand various private electronic signature methods to enhance accessibility not only to employment and industrial accident insurance but also to various labor welfare services, and actively promote customer-centered service innovation as a labor welfare hub."
