[Asia Economy Reporter Junhyung Lee] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 28th that it has selected 46 startups to advance to the finals in the fields of industrial accident prevention, autonomous driving, and biohealth through the 'Dae-Star Solver Platform.'
The Dae-Star Solver Platform is part of a policy supporting the creation of a co-growth ecosystem between large corporations and startups. It is conducted in the form of a contest where startups solve challenges in areas requiring collaboration between large corporations and startups.
Since its launch in June this year, 174 startups have participated in the Dae-Star Solver Platform. After a first round of document screening and a second round of in-depth face-to-face evaluation for each challenge, 17 startups in industrial accident prevention, 9 in autonomous driving, and 20 in biohealth were selected.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups will grant the 46 startups advancing to the final round up to two months to refine their problem-solving solutions. During this period, they will receive consulting and mentoring from demand companies and related experts, with the final competition scheduled for November this year. However, for the autonomous driving and biohealth fields, which require longer development discussions, separate final competitions will be held in December.
Through the final competition, the Ministry will select up to three startups per challenge. The selected startups will receive support for commercialization, technology development, and special technology guarantees based on collaboration with demand large corporations. The Ministry also supports joint business promotion with large corporations and global expansion utilizing overseas networks.
Additionally, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will publicly showcase outstanding startup ideas from participating companies in this year's Dae-Star Solver Platform to the entire nation through the 'Come Up' championship to be held in November.
