So far, Wanju County has been promoting various projects related to dementia.
First, a visiting one-on-one cognitive enhancement program is being conducted for dementia patients.
In particular, the memory recall program through the 'Autobiography Making' activity among the programs is gaining positive responses not only from patients and their families but also from local residents.
Additionally, efforts are focused on customized dementia management, including tailored case management, support for dementia treatment costs to prevent severe dementia, high-quality diagnostic tests through affiliated hospitals, operation of healing programs and self-help groups for dementia families.
Furthermore, to facilitate early detection of dementia among local residents, dementia screening tests for residents aged 60 and over and various dementia prevention and cognitive programs are provided, ensuring thorough dementia management for the community.
Park Seong-il, the governor of Wanju County, said, “We will continue to do our best for dementia prevention and brain health of the elderly by providing customized integrated dementia management projects tailored to the characteristics of the region.”
