Operation of Anti-Corruption Week and Anti-Corruption Activities until October 1
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The 'Gangwon-do Integrity Society Public-Private Council,' composed of public institutions, public service-related organizations, and private organizations within Gangwon Province, will conduct an integrity campaign this week to realize a corruption-free and fair society in the region.
According to Gangwon Province on the 27th, the main contents of the campaign include the 'Integrity Mural Festival,' which embodies the participating institutions' commitment to integrity; the 'Integrity GOGOGO Campaign,' combining community contribution activities with integrity campaigns; and the 'Integrity Challenge,' introducing the integrity philosophies of institution heads.
Additionally, the campaign includes volunteer activities with neighbors in need called 'Brewing Integrity,' exchange activities among 'Integrity Citizen Auditors,' who serve as ombudsmen for each institution, and the 'Cross-operation of Corruption Impact Assessment System,' where public institutions mutually inspect hidden corruption factors.
The Integrity Society Public-Private Council plans to hold the '2021 Clean Gangwon Integrity Festival' based on the campaign proposals from participating institutions from today until October 1.
The council also designates the period during which the Integrity Festival takes place as 'Gangwon-do Anti-Corruption Week' and will jointly conduct various activities to prevent corruption by each institution.
The Gangwon-do Integrity Society Public-Private Council is a public-private cooperative organization established in September 2019 to build a cooperative system between the public and private sectors for anti-corruption policy promotion, aiming to spread a culture of integrity throughout the local community.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Audit Committee will conduct a morning campaign sharing corruption prevention systems with all employees during the campaign period and operate special integrity education for executives and staff of council member institutions.
In particular, on the last day of the event, all members will participate in simulated training on corruption, abuse of power, and public interest reporting to directly experience the practical operation of institutional measures for corruption prevention.
A Seung-dam, secretary of the Gangwon-do Integrity Society Public-Private Council, said, "Corruption tends to rise especially during difficult times like now," adding, "We hope that the Integrity Festival, jointly held by the public and private sectors, will be an opportunity for public officials to reflect on the value of integrity and a hopeful promise for a corruption-free and fair society for the residents."
