BGF Retail Announces Winners of Child Safety Drawing Contest BGF Retail announced the winners of the '2021 National Child Safety Drawing Contest'.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] BGF Retail announced the winners of the ‘2021 National Child Safety Drawing Contest’ on the 27th.

BGF Retail, in collaboration with the National Police Agency, held a drawing contest from the 19th of last month to the 6th of this month for children under 13 nationwide under the theme ‘Child Safety Seen Through Children’s Eyes’ in two categories: ‘Good Friend CU’ and ‘Child Safety Guardian House.’

The BGF Retail CEO Award in the Good Friend CU category was awarded to ▲Hwang Ji-won (Kindergarten) ▲Song Ga-eun (Lower Elementary) ▲Lee Yoon-ji (Upper Elementary). The National Police Agency Commissioner Award in the Child Safety Guardian House category went to ▲Kim Su-a (Kindergarten) ▲Seo Ji-ho (Lower Elementary) ▲Park Yeon-su (Upper Elementary), each receiving a certificate and a scholarship of 1 million KRW. In the Good Friend Award, which selected seven outstanding works in each category, a total of 14 children were awarded: 4 in Kindergarten, 6 in Lower Elementary, and 4 in Upper Elementary.

The winning works were selected by comprehensively scoring each entry on theme relevance, creativity, expressiveness, and completeness to choose the first round of outstanding works, followed by a second round of judging that included online public voting scores. The six top award-winning works will be used on the hot pack packaging released by CU this year. The back of the packaging will also feature photos of long-term missing children to raise awareness about finding missing children.

BGF Retail will publish a collection of child safety drawings. This collection can be viewed on the official CU website and blog. A comment event will also be held until the 8th of next month, where 100 customers who leave reviews on the official CU blog will be selected by lottery to receive a CU mobile gift certificate worth 3,000 KRW.

A BGF Retail official said, “Thanks to the great interest shown in the contest, we were able to let our children know that convenience stores are open spaces where they can receive help in times of difficulty,” adding, “Going forward, CU will continue to take the lead in protecting community safety through a more sophisticated social safety net system.”
