Free Rental of Cutting-Edge Smart Construction Equipment to Partner Companies
[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] DL E&C (formerly Daelim Industrial) is practicing mutual growth by supporting the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) capabilities of its partner companies. While enhancing productivity through the support of smart construction technologies for partner companies, it is also promoting the creation of safe sites and waste reduction activities together with them.
Since 2019, DL E&C has been lending 10 units of Machine Guidance (MG) equipment free of charge to partner companies for application on sites. Machine Guidance equips construction heavy machinery such as excavators and bulldozers with precision GPS, tilt sensors, and digital controllers, allowing operators to check various construction information in real time. This enables excavation work without surveying and allows precise construction, improving productivity efficiency by more than 25% compared to traditional methods.
Additionally, a strength-assist wearable suit that helps workers move or lift heavy equipment is being trialed at sites with frequent heavy repetitive tasks. Using the strength-assist wearable suit reduces worker fatigue and musculoskeletal physical burden, which is expected to prevent safety accidents and improve productivity. DL E&C selects partner companies with excellent equipment utilization and provides incentives to support the establishment and activation of smart technologies and to motivate the integration of the latest construction technologies.
DL E&C is creating eco-friendly sites by reducing waste together with partner companies. To reduce the amount of mixed waste and increase recycling rates through separate collection, DL E&C is conducting pilot activities supporting waste reduction efforts. At the Goyang Jichuk apartment site, a waste separation facility equipped with AI-based CCTV has been installed to meticulously monitor waste management status. DL E&C plans to select outstanding partner companies actively participating in waste reduction activities and provide incentives.
To create a safe site environment, DL E&C is operating a safety experience school and implementing a partner company safety management performance sharing system. The partner company safety management performance sharing system started in 2019. It provides incentives including cash support to companies that achieve zero-accident completion and excellent safety activities. Currently, 57 companies are participating through DL E&C’s safety management system.
Lee Sang-su, Executive Officer at DL E&C, said, “Through support projects based on ESG management, we will strengthen win-win cooperation, establish a sustainable ecosystem, and contribute to mutual growth with our partner companies.”
