[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] LG Electronics launched a new product, the ‘DIOS Kimchi Tok Tok Objet Collection’ with increased capacity and enhanced convenience, ahead of the peak season for kimchi refrigerators, on the 24th.
The new product has the largest capacity among the Objet Collection kimchi refrigerators at 491ℓ. It significantly increased the capacity compared to the existing Objet Collection kimchi refrigerators, which were in the 300ℓ range, and applied a 4-door type for the first time.
This product utilizes the upper, middle, and lower compartments to store not only kimchi but also various ingredients generously. In particular, the upper compartment features LG’s differentiated technology, the multi-purpose partition wall, allowing the left and right spaces to be set at desired temperatures separately, making customized storage for each food item convenient.
Additionally, the multi-storage room in the upper compartment is equipped with a foldable drawer-type shelf, enabling large beverages or foods to be stored upright. LG Electronics provides a small kimchi container for storing small amounts of kimchi and a transparent lid kimchi container that allows users to check the interior without opening it, for customer convenience.

The new product also inherits the differentiated advantages of the latest kimchi refrigerators. It features the industry’s only ‘AI Customized Storage’ function available exclusively in the stand-type DIOS Kimchi Tok Tok, allowing customized storage of nine types of packaged kimchi from leading domestic kimchi brands such as CJ CheilJedang Bibigo, Daesang Jongga, and Pulmuone.
The AI Customized Storage function does not simply store kimchi at preset temperatures by mode but automatically sets the optimal temperature and time for fermentation based on information such as manufacturer, kimchi type, and manufacturing date. Customers can scan the barcode on the packaged kimchi with the LG ThinQ smartphone application, and once the kimchi refrigerator recognizes it, they enter the manufacturing date and select the ripening mode.
LG Electronics applied differentiated kimchi storage technologies such as ‘New Probiotic Kimchi+’, which increases probiotics that enhance kimchi flavor by up to 57 times compared to normal storage mode, and ‘Fresh Constant Temperature’, which maintains the internal temperature difference within ±0.3℃ in the freshness-preserving kimchi mode to keep kimchi fresh.
Consumers can choose from Objet Collection materials and colors, including Phenix, mainly used in premium furniture, and luxurious-feeling stainless steel. The shipment price of the new product ranges from 2.85 million to 4.05 million KRW, depending on the door material and color, and internal function configuration.
Yoon Kyung-seok, Vice President and Head of the Kitchen Appliance Division at the H&A Business Division, said, “We will provide differentiated value to customers by leading with the Objet Collection kimchi refrigerator that combines space interior design, powerful performance, and convenience.”
