Seodaemun-gu Achieves Highest Grade in Seoul City in 2021 Government Joint Evaluation


[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) announced on the 22nd that it recently achieved the highest grade of S in the 2021 Government Joint Evaluation in Seoul.


The district also received an S grade last year.


The Government Joint Evaluation is a system in which the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and related central ministries jointly evaluate major tasks performed by local governments, targeting the achievement of indicators across 17 cities and provinces nationwide.


In this regard, Seoul City evaluates 25 autonomous districts by dividing them into S, A, and B grades based on a scoring method that combines quantitative indicators (70%) and effort (30%).


Seodaemun-gu received the highest grade by achieving targets in 33 out of 42 overall indicators. The district will receive a special grant of 33 million won as a financial incentive.


Moon Seok-jin, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, stated, “Achieving the S grade in the Government Joint Evaluation in Seoul is the result of the combined efforts of residents and public officials during the difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic. We will continue to strengthen administrative capabilities so that residents can feel the achievements of the district administration.”
