President Moon's Interview with US ABC News... "Explaining Efforts for Peace on the Korean Peninsula"

ABC Broadcast to Air Interview with President Moon on 24th and 25th... Ranked No.1 Morning News Program in the US

[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] On the 21st (local time), President Moon Jae-in explained efforts for peace settlement on the Korean Peninsula in an interview with ABC News held in New York, USA.


This interview was arranged to convey the efforts of our government to address global issues such as climate change and the pandemic, as well as the recently rising soft power of the Republic of Korea, by inviting President Moon, who was invited as a speaker at the opening ceremony of the UN SDG Moment.


The Blue House stated, "Especially this year marks the 30th anniversary of the simultaneous admission of South and North Korea to the UN, and President Moon explained his efforts focused most on the establishment of peace on the Korean Peninsula."

Additionally, the interview also focused on BTS, who continuously raise social voices on issues concerning the youth and future generations through music. The interviewer, Juju Chang, is a co-host of ABC News’ late-night news program.


The Blue House explained, "Juju Chang, a Korean-American, has shown deep interest in President Moon and BTS, and through her program Nightline, she has continuously addressed issues such as Asian racial discrimination and immigration."


ABC News plans to broadcast President Moon’s interview on the 24th on Good Morning America (broadcast time 7 AM to 9 AM), Good Morning America 3 on the 24th (broadcast time 1 PM to 2 PM), and Nightline on the 25th (broadcast time 12:35 AM to 1:05 AM).


Meanwhile, Good Morning America is ABC’s flagship morning comprehensive news program that first aired in 1975. It has maintained the number one morning news program rating for nine consecutive years, surpassing NBC.
