According to Korea Expressway Corporation, as of 8:30 a.m. that day, except for the Osan~Namsa section toward Busan and the Banpo~Seocho section toward Seoul on the Gyeongbu Expressway, traffic is flowing smoothly.
Besides, on the Seohaean Expressway, except for congestion in the Geumcheon section toward Seoul, traffic is smooth, and there are no notable congested sections on other expressways.
As of 9 a.m. that day, the estimated travel times by passenger car from Seoul Tollgate to major cities nationwide are 4 hours 50 minutes to Busan, 4 hours 30 minutes to Ulsan, 3 hours 50 minutes to Daegu, 3 hours 30 minutes to Gwangju, 1 hour 50 minutes to Daejeon, and 2 hours 50 minutes to Gangneung.
Meanwhile, congestion in the outbound direction for returning home is expected to start around 7?8 a.m., peak around 3?4 p.m., and ease around 8?9 p.m. For the inbound direction, congestion is predicted to begin around 9?10 a.m., peak around 3?4 p.m., and clear by 1?2 a.m. on the 22nd.
