President Moon: "Chuseok Full Moon Wish is for the Health and Safety of the People"

Chuseok Greeting Video Message on Flight to New York... "I Will Return Safely After the UN General Assembly with Greater Hope"

[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] President Moon Jae-in said in his 'Chuseok Greeting Video Message' on the 20th, "Dear citizens, the full moon of Hangawi grants people's wishes," adding, "My wife and I will pray for the health and safety of each and every citizen."

President Moon stated, "I will safely conclude the UN General Assembly and return with greater hope," conveying this message.

President Moon said, "This time as well, I will attend the UN General Assembly during the Chuseok holiday. On the plane heading to New York, from my seat, I send my Chuseok greetings to all citizens," adding, "Many are having such a hard time that it is difficult even to say 'have a good holiday.' I hope this year’s holiday will be one where we encourage and support each other. Even in hardship, love among family and neighbors does not diminish."

First Lady Kim Jung-sook said, "Family is always a strong support. Even in difficult days, the round moon rises unchanged over the hills, and the love for family remains the same," adding, "If we embrace each other's hearts with warm feelings and words of encouragement, love will grow even more."

Regarding COVID-19 vaccination, President Moon said, "We have overcome a great mountain and are welcoming Chuseok. We have achieved the promised 70% first-dose vaccination rate before Chuseok, which has eased some worries," adding, "By next month, the completion rate will also lead the world, and we will gradually regain our daily lives."

President Moon added, "Please endure just a little longer despite the difficulties. I thank the medical staff and quarantine teams who have worked hard, and the citizens who have persevered with patience."

First Lady Kim said, "I believe that the love for family and neighbors has accelerated our country's vaccination speed," adding, "Although the situation is still difficult, I hope we trust our families and share more with our neighbors." She added, "As we have responded calmly with a spirit of togetherness, the results will also be valuable."
