BTS Attends UN General Assembly as Special Envoys... Delivering Message to Youth Worldwide Group Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS).

[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The group BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) will attend the 76th United Nations General Assembly as the "Special Presidential Envoy for Future Generations and Culture."

On the 20th at 8 a.m. (Eastern Time, USA), BTS will deliver a speech and perform at the opening session of the UN General Assembly special event, the "Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Moment," representing the youth and future generations. This will be broadcast live on the official UN YouTube channel, the UN Web TV official site, and the UN Twitter account.

This marks BTS's third speech at the UN General Assembly. In September 2018, at the 73rd UN General Assembly, BTS attended the UNICEF youth agenda event "Generation Unlimited," where leader RM delivered a message to the younger generation based on his personal experiences, encouraging them to "love yourself and raise your voice."

In September last year, BTS participated as a special speaker at the high-level meeting of the UN Health Security Friends Group held online during the 75th UN General Assembly. They sent a message of encouragement to the future generations struggling amid the pandemic: "Life goes on. Let's live on."

News of BTS's third attendance at the UN General Assembly was warmly welcomed not only by fans worldwide but also by the UN itself. The UN introduced BTS on its official social media as "Korea's superstar, a friend of the UN," and announced that BTS's performance would be included in this year's UN General Assembly events. Not only the UN but also the Blue House and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea announced BTS's participation in the UN General Assembly.

As the "Special Presidential Envoy for Future Generations and Culture," BTS will represent the youth living in this era and raise their voices for future generations at this UN General Assembly. After the speech, BTS will share their thoughts on key UN General Assembly topics such as overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic and communication with future generations in an interview with the American ABC network.
