First, regarding testing of foreigners in Gwangsan-gu, 4 people (cases 4613, 4614, 4622, and 4623) tested positive. Additionally, 1 person (case 4624) was confirmed positive in connection with workplaces employing foreigners.
So far, a total of 233 confirmed cases have been reported related to foreigner testing in Gwangsan-gu, and 101 confirmed cases related to workplaces employing foreigners.
Case 4624 was confirmed infected through a diagnostic test administrative order at a job placement agency.
The city issued a diagnostic test administrative order on the 17th after epidemiological investigations confirmed that the spread, centered in Gwangsan-gu with over 300 foreigner cases, was transmitted via specific restaurants, religious facilities, and job placement agencies.
Cases 4616, 4620, 4625, 4627, and 4629 are confirmed cases with unknown infection routes. All underwent testing after showing symptoms.
In addition, 3 cases are related to existing confirmed patients, 3 cases are related to confirmed patients from other cities or provinces, and 1 case is imported from overseas.
Also, 1 person related to a middle school in Buk-gu tested positive during a test conducted before release from self-quarantine.
Meanwhile, on the 16th, Gwangju City, autonomous districts, and the police conducted a joint inspection of 26 food service establishments to check compliance with quarantine rules and found 2 establishments in violation.
One establishment that failed to prepare an electronic entry log will face administrative measures and fines, and one establishment violating business hour restrictions will be subject to prosecution.
The special quarantine inspection of food service establishments will continue until the 3rd of next month.
