'Hard-to-Detect COVID-19' 22 New Cases in Gwangju on the 18th

According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 19th, six new infections were classified between 6 PM and midnight the previous day, bringing the total confirmed cases for the day to 22.

Among the cases that occurred overnight, four had contact with existing confirmed cases, and two were related to testing of foreigners and others.

Cases 4607 and 4608 are related to testing of foreigners and others. Specifically, case 4607 is linked to testing of foreigners in Gwangsan-gu, and case 4608 is related to a workplace employing foreigners. Case 4608 was confirmed infected during a test conducted before release from quarantine.

So far, 230 people have been confirmed positive in connection with testing of foreigners in Gwangsan-gu, and 99 people have been confirmed positive related to workplaces employing foreigners.

Case 4605 had contact with case 4583, confirmed on the 17th, and case 4609 had contact with case 4250, confirmed on the 5th. Case 4609 tested positive during a test conducted just before release from self-quarantine.

Case 4610 had contact with case 4592, confirmed the previous day, and case 4606 had contact with Jeonnam case 2886.

Meanwhile, a total of 4,610 confirmed cases have occurred in the Gwangju area to date, with 259 patients currently receiving isolation treatment, 4,322 having fully recovered and been discharged, and 29 deaths.

Looking at the occurrence status over the past two weeks since the 6th, the number of cases has been 34→43→22→25→21→27→14→35→38→13→21→27→22, showing that the spread has not been easily contained.
