Learning the Excellence of Traditional Culture with 'Charyesang Making Clay Set'... Online Education on How to Set Charyesang... Providing 'Songpyeon Meal Kit' for Family Memories... Delivering Marinated Pork Ribs Sponsored by 'Baeteojyeo Sutbulgalbi'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jongno-gu (Mayor Kim Young-jong) promoted the ‘Let’s Make a Delicious and Wonderful Chuseok’ project to help Dream Start children have a happy Chuseok, providing healthy food and play materials.
The purpose is to help children, who have spent lonely times at home unable to freely socialize with friends due to COVID-19, create precious childhood memories by making songpyeon and setting up the ancestral ritual table themselves.
As part of this, 50 children who applied in advance received the ‘Chuseok Ancestral Ritual Table Clay Set’ to experience the excellence of our traditional culture.
The set consists of 11 types of clay and 3 types of rice paddles, and children participate in online education to learn how to set the ancestral ritual table.
Completed works must be submitted as photos after the holiday.
There was also a time to make songpyeon, the food that first comes to mind when thinking of ‘Chuseok’. This is the ‘Our Family Songpyeon Making Project’, which provides meal kits containing various ingredients needed to make songpyeon according to the number of family members and encourages watching educational videos.
The local children’s cooking academy ‘Master Kids Cooking’ supported children’s emotional stability and memory making.
Following this, ‘Baeteojyeo Sutbul Galbi’, located in the area, donated an impressive 344kg of marinated pork ribs, and the ‘Chuseok Nutrition Support Project’ was also promoted.
This reflects the sponsor’s intention to allow families to safely enjoy delicious food at home and fully experience the holiday atmosphere during these times when dining out is difficult.
To prevent food spoilage, the local community center visited the business directly to collect the ribs and distributed 2kg per Dream Start child. Although 2kg of pork ribs is not a small amount, considering that it might be insufficient for large families, 2 packs (4kg) were provided for families of four or more, and 3 packs (6kg) for families of six or more, showing thoughtful consideration.
In addition, Ilwoo-i (CEO Lee Jong-ho) donated 143 gift sets, well-stocked with essential daily necessities for vulnerable children, adding warmth to the project.
Mayor Kim Young-jong said, “This Chuseok project for Dream Start children was possible thanks to sponsors and partner companies in the region who share the same will,” and added, “I express my gratitude to many people who willingly supported the healthy growth and happiness of children.”
