[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] Choi Jae-hyung, former head of the Board of Audit and Inspection and a presidential candidate from the People Power Party, met with party leader Lee Jun-seok on the first day of the Chuseok holiday to exchange well-wishes.

According to the People Power Party on the 18th, Choi and Lee met for a luncheon at a cold noodle specialty restaurant in Jung-gu, Seoul.

At the luncheon, Lee reportedly shared his experience managing the April 7 Seoul mayoral by-election and the party leadership election with Choi.

After the luncheon, Lee told reporters, "Now that the (presidential) primary rules have been finalized, it’s nice to comfortably meet the candidates," adding, "I feel like I’m giving the candidates a plastic bag, if not a silk pouch." He continued, "I hope they achieve what they want in the election."

In response, Choi said, "Lee said he gave me a plastic bag, but I received a silk pouch," adding, "It will be a great help in running the new campaign." Choi also congratulated Lee on the 100th day since his inauguration as party leader.

Meanwhile, Lee has continued communication with presidential candidates, having previously met with former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl and former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min.
