Strong Rain Expected with Thunder and Lightning on Chuseok Day

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Typhoon No. 14 'Chantu' has weakened into an extratropical cyclone.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 18th, Chantu transformed into an extratropical cyclone around 9 a.m. that day, approximately 90 km south-southwest of Nagoya, Japan, over land.
As the typhoon passes, the entire country is expected to experience occasionally cloudy weather until the 20th. However, due to easterly winds, occasional rain is expected until the morning in the central and southern parts of Gangwon Yeongdong and the northern East Coast of Gyeongbuk. In the afternoon, raindrops may fall in the southern part of Gangwon Yeongdong, the East Coast of Gyeongbuk, the southern inland area of Gyeongbuk, Jeonnam, and Jeju.
On Chuseok day, the 21st, it is expected to be cloudy from dawn to afternoon, with strong rain accompanied by gusts, thunder, and lightning at times. Then, on the 22nd, the country will generally be mostly cloudy, with some rain in the morning in the central regions except for Gangwon Yeongdong.
