'Massage Device' Shopping Opportunities Pour In to Wrap Up Chuseok Holiday

Bodyfriend Open and Delivering Normally Even During Holidays

'Massage Device' Shopping Opportunities Pour In to Wrap Up Chuseok Holiday Bodyfriend The Pharaoh

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Various opportunities are being provided to purchase massage devices, which are popular gifts during the Chuseok holiday, at reasonable prices. Due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, many consumers are choosing to express their feelings with massage devices instead of visiting their hometowns this Chuseok as well.

Bodyfriend is operating normally and delivering as usual during the Chuseok holiday. All directly operated showrooms are open on the weekend of the 19th and also on the day before Chuseok, the 20th. On Chuseok day, the 21st, 36 major showrooms nationwide will be open to welcome customers. From the 22nd, all 123 directly operated showrooms nationwide will resume normal operations. Customers who rent or purchase massage chairs at Bodyfriend’s nationwide directly operated showrooms during the Chuseok holiday will receive gifts worth up to 500,000 KRW and a chance to win an additional massage chair. To ensure prompt delivery, shipping will continue without breaks during the holiday. A Bodyfriend representative stated, "As demand for massage chairs as health and filial piety gifts has greatly increased, over 250 delivery personnel have been mobilized to handle deliveries even during the holiday."

Hutech is running the '2021 Home Festa Season 2' promotion until the 31st of next month, offering relaxation prizes worth a total of 100 million KRW. Customers who purchase massage chairs during the promotion period from Hutech’s website, directly operated showrooms, Costco, or any officially partnered online malls and offline stores will be automatically entered into the draw. Detailed information is available on Hutech’s website.

Cozyma has seen about a 35% increase in sales of small massage devices in the two weeks leading up to the Chuseok holiday compared to the same period last month. This is also about a 20% increase compared to the two weeks before last year’s Chuseok. Although some quarantine measures were eased ahead of Chuseok, concerns about the continued spread of COVID-19 have made visiting hometowns or gatherings difficult, leading to higher demand for small massage devices as gifts for family and friends.
