On the morning of the same day, Lee appeared on MBC Radio's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus' and said, "Public sentiment in Gwangju is becoming favorable, and both of the two polls released yesterday show that I have overturned the results."
When asked by the host if he was confident of winning first place in the Honam primary, he replied, "I believe it will be so," adding, "I need to widen the margin."
He said, "The choice of Honam has always had a significant influence on the Democratic Party's decisions," and added, "We must win by as large a margin as possible."
Regarding Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung, Lee Nak-yeon emphasized that he is an unstable candidate.
He said, "Various issues are emerging," and added, "Whenever I mention something, it is called negative campaigning, so I deliberately avoid specific details, but isn't this creating a strange atmosphere?"
When asked if he thought various ethical issues would affect Lee Jae-myung in the general election, he said, "It is true that there are several risks," and added, "There is a risk involved."
Regarding the Hwacheon Daeyu issue, he pointed out, "I hope the truth will be revealed, but as Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum said, 'It is not common sense,' and unusual things are happening."
