KT Establishes CEO-Direct 'Group Transformation'... Yoon Kyung-rim Appointed as Division Head President Yoon Kyung-rim appointed as Head of KT Group Transformation Division

[Asia Economy Reporter Joselgina] KT announced on the 17th that it has established the 'Group Transformation Division' directly under the CEO to strengthen the foundation for future growth at the group level. This division integrates functions such as ▲group management and business strategy ▲domestic and international strategic investments ▲external partnerships and collaborations to lead professional and systematic group growth. Yoon Kyung-rim, former Vice President of Hyundai Motor Company, was appointed as the head of the division.

KT plans to promote a business portfolio transformation centered on the Group Transformation Division to secure new growth engines for each affiliate while creating synergies within the group. Additionally, the newly established division will play a pivotal role in formulating and executing strategies to enhance corporate value, including IPOs and investment attraction of major group companies. Since last year, KT has been driving the growth of Digico (DICIGO) in earnest, pushing investments exceeding 1 trillion won in Hyundai Robotics, Hyundai HCN, Webcash Group, Epsilon, and others. Going forward, the company plans to continue strategic mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and corporate partnerships and collaborations.

Mr. Yoon, who will lead the new division, previously served as head of KT’s Media Headquarters, head of the Future Convergence Business Promotion Office, and head of the Global Business Division, leading KT’s future growth. KT stated, “We recruited him as the right person to establish strategies that will drive growth across various group companies based on expertise not only in telecommunications but also in mobility and media, and to translate these strategies into tangible results.”

KT expressed, “We expect the new division to lead remarkable growth by maximizing the potential of each group company and to play a significant role in enhancing the corporate value of the KT Group transformed into Digico,” adding, “We will maximize shareholder value through a virtuous cycle of group company performance creation, investment, and profits.”
