[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] A woman who was watching a parking violation sticker on a Mercedes-Benz being towed got her foot caught in the towing vehicle's wheel. The tow truck driver expressed frustration, asking, "Do I have to cover the insurance?"

On the 12th, a video titled "A woman watching an illegal parking ticket got her foot caught in the auxiliary wheel" was posted on the YouTube channel 'Han Moon-cheol TV.'

According to the video, tow truck driver Mr. A was temporarily stopped at a signal while towing a Mercedes-Benz that was illegally parked. Then, a man and a woman sitting at an outdoor table of a nearby restaurant approached the vehicle to look at the parking violation sticker.

However, Mr. A, not noticing the man and woman watching, started driving. The woman was staring at the windshield of the towed vehicle when she screamed and sat down. The man with her ran to the tow truck shouting for it to stop.

Mr. A explained, "The vehicle in front started moving, so I checked left and right to confirm there were no obstacles, then released the clutch to drive, but I immediately stopped when I heard a scream."

He added, "They had nothing to do with the towed vehicle. They said they were just trying to look at the sticker, but I don't understand that. The police said I was the offender. They say if a car hits a person, it's always the car's fault. Do I have to cover the insurance?"

During the YouTube live broadcast poll at the time, netizens unanimously agreed, saying, "The tow truck is not at fault."

Attorney Han Moon-cheol also stated, "This accident did not happen while Mr. A was turning; it happened because the pedestrian came in front of the tow truck's auxiliary wheel to look at the glass of a stopped vehicle at a signal, so he is not at fault." He added, "People always say if a car hits a person, it's the car's fault, but I don't think this is the case."
