Samsung Securities to Operate Overseas Stock Desk During Chuseok Holiday

[Asia Economy Reporter Ji-hwan Park] Samsung Securities announced on the 13th that it will operate the 'Overseas Stock Desk' during the Chuseok holiday this year, allowing customers to conveniently trade overseas stocks just as on weekdays.

In September, there are many notable global economic variables such as the FOMC, reflecting the increased needs of investors who want to respond to 'investment risks' in real time.

Along with operating the overseas stock desk, a 24-hour currency exchange service that allows currency exchange even late at night is being offered, along with events. The overseas stock event targets customers who had no overseas stock transactions at Samsung Securities from January 1 to July 31 this year. For one month from the event application date, the online trading commission for U.S. stocks is 0%. Only when selling, an additional transaction tax (SEC FEE) of 0.00051% collected by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is applied. For the following 11 months, online trading commissions are 0.09%, and when selling, the SEC FEE of 0.00051% is additionally charged.

In particular, when trading overseas ETFs and ETNs online, a commission of 0.045% is applied. Although branches will be closed during the Chuseok holiday period, new accounts can be opened and overseas investments can be started. Anyone can conveniently open an account non-face-to-face with their own ID card, smartphone, and an account at another financial institution.
