KOFST to Hold Discussion at the '2021 Korea Science and Technology Annual Conference' on the 10th

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-su] Experts from South Korea's science and technology sector are gathering to discuss the prospects and challenges of Korean society, which is facing an era of great transformation marked by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Now in its fifteenth year, this event has been held annually since 2007, bringing together experts and leaders in the field of science and technology to discuss the nation's future vision and development strategies, as well as to share the latest information in an open communication forum. This year, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the entire conference will be held online for the second consecutive year.

This year's theme is "Great Transformation, Korea's Future," focusing on how to overcome and turn into opportunities the era of great transformation intertwined with the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the pandemic through science and technology. The event will feature insights and visions from 75 experts across various fields of science and technology.

The keynote speech will be delivered by Professor Lee Jeong-dong of Seoul National University, author of the bestseller "The Time of Accumulation," on the topic "Great Transformation, the Image of an Innovative Nation Korea." Kim Hee-jin, CEO of Ulike Korea Co., Ltd., will give a lecture titled "The Dreams and Challenges of Women Scientists Changing the Global Livestock Industry." The awards ceremony for the "Korea's Top Scientist Award" and the "31st Excellent Science and Technology Paper Award" will also be held.

In the afternoon, symposia will be held on the themes of ▲regional economy ▲energy ▲social transformation ▲data economy ▲talent innovation ▲governance ▲digital transformation ▲regulatory innovation. The annual academic conference, Dasan Conference, will be held under the theme "Post-COVID-19, National Strategic Great Transformation Centered on Science and Technology."

All programs will be broadcast live through the annual conference website. Since the eight symposia and the Dasan Conference will be broadcast simultaneously, viewers can select each session channel to watch.
