[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] BGF Retail announced on the 9th that it is recruiting ‘CU Lost and Abandoned Animals Coexistence Supporters’ based on the business agreement signed last month with the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency.
The Coexistence Supporters will play a role in raising public awareness about the actual conditions of lost and abandoned animals and promoting national policies and information that pet owners must know. To become a Coexistence Supporter, applicants must upload a post on personal social networking services (SNS) such as Instagram or Facebook introducing the Animal Protection Management System and the adoption procedures for animals under protection, and then attach the URL of the post along with a verification photo on the event page within CU’s membership app, ‘Pocket CU’.
CU will select 1,000 CU Lost and Abandoned Animals Coexistence Supporters from the applicants and gift them a uniform for pet dogs as a souvenir. The uniform is designed to closely resemble the purple vest worn by actual CU employees, with a QR code printed on the back that allows easy access to the Animal Protection Management System.
A BGF Retail official said, “We planned this project to create a warm culture where pet owners, pets, and neighbors live together based on CU, the guardian of our neighborhood,” and added, “We will continue to take the lead with CU franchise stores and customers in creating a community where animals and people coexist with ongoing interest.”
