GS Retail, Employee Relay Blood Donation Campaign... Over 12,000 Participants in 16 Years GS Retail employees are posing while holding blood donation certificates.


[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] GS Retail announced on the 7th that on the 6th, it simultaneously conducted a 'Love Blood Donation Campaign' for employees at GS Tower in Yeoksam-dong, GSN Tower in Mullae-dong, and GS Gangseo Tower in Seoul.


Starting with this event, GS Retail will continue the blood donation campaign at eight convenience store branches in the Busan area, GS The Fresh Myeongjang branch, and plans to carry out relay blood donation campaigns at regional offices and stores located nationwide.


In particular, from this event, GS Shop employees, who became part of the same family after GS Retail's integrated launch last July, also participated to share warm hearts through blood donation and continue volunteer activities that fulfill social responsibility.


GS Retail expects this relay blood donation campaign to help overcome the decrease in blood donation participants due to COVID-19 and the nationwide blood supply shortage.


Blood donation certificates donated by participants and employees will be delivered to the Korea Leukemia Children's Cancer Association, and this year, the proceeds from the online donation market, conducted by selling items donated by employees, will be collected and donated along with KF94 masks.


Since first signing an agreement with the Korean Red Cross and starting the blood donation campaign in 2006, GS Retail has held two blood donation campaigns annually until last year, and from this year, it has expanded to three times a year. The campaign is conducted for all employees, including the CEO, at headquarters and regional offices, and by the first half of this year, the number of participants in blood donation over 16 years has exceeded 12,000.


Park Jung-hyun, head of the GS Retail Organizational Culture Service Team, said, "We thank all GS Retail employees and the public who participated in the love blood donation campaign that saves others' lives despite the difficult social environment caused by COVID-19," and added, "We will continue to carry out various social activities that fulfill social responsibility."
