[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] An American rapper who made headlines for undergoing surgery to implant a diamond worth over 27 billion won on his forehead recently revealed that a fan almost tore off the diamond during a performance.

According to the American entertainment media TMZ, famous American rapper Lil Uzi Vert (26) attended the large hip-hop festival "Rolling Loud" held in Miami, Florida on July 25, where the diamond embedded in his forehead was grabbed and nearly torn off.

Vert said, "I threw myself into the crowd during the performance, and they grabbed and tried to tear off the diamond," adding, "A fan tried to pull the diamond off during the show, but I didn’t lose it and I’m keeping it safe. I didn’t get any injuries on my face."

Earlier, in February, he posted a photo on his social media showing an 11-carat diamond worth $24 million (approximately 27.8 billion won) implanted in his forehead. At the time, he uploaded a video of his forehead with the diamond embedded, captioned "beautiful pain."

Afterward, he expressed his pain by sharing photos of blood flowing from his forehead and removed the diamond in June, but it was reported that he reattached it for the "Rolling Loud" performance.

Meanwhile, when those around him expressed concern about losing the diamond after the performance, Vert said, "I already have insurance."
