Gwanak S Valley Creates Meeting Platform for Investors and Founders to Boost Startup Investment Attraction... Targeting 8 Companies Under 3 Years Old Located in Gwanak-gu, Including Existing and Prospective Entrepreneurs
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) Nakseong Venture Startup Center (2 Nakseong-daero, Gwanak-gu) successfully concluded the 2nd 'OPEN IR' of 2021 on August 26.
'OPEN IR (Investor Relations)' is an investment activation program that facilitates meetings between Gwanak S Valley startup companies and investors, enabling pitching and advice sessions that lead to actual investment attraction.
This event was attended by eight companies that have been operating for less than three years or are prospective entrepreneurs located in Gwanak-gu, along with four investment institutions interested in startups (Seoul National University Technology Holdings, SQubic Angels, Space Jump, and NSL Partners).
The event was held at the Nakseong Venture Startup Center from 1 PM to 5 PM for about four hours, with each company presenting for 30 minutes (10 minutes for business introduction, 20 minutes for Q&A), fostering active networking between participating companies and investors.
A district official stated, "To enhance the effectiveness of the OPEN IR program, we plan to continuously connect and conduct follow-up mentoring between participating companies and investment institutions."
The district is actively promoting the 'Gwanak S Valley' project, which is based on the excellent local resources of youth and Seoul National University, with 'Nakseong Venture Valley' and 'Sillim Startup Valley' as its two main pillars, resulting in the creation of 11 startup spaces in Gwanak, which was a barren land for startups three years ago.
Opened in March last year, the 'Nakseong Venture Startup Center' is a key facility of Gwanak S Valley, currently housing 17 resident companies, and supports and nurtures excellent startups by discovering local (prospective) entrepreneurs through various programs such as mentoring, IR, and market research support.
