[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Tae-min] The South Korean Boccia Pair team advanced to the semifinals with a preliminary record of 3 wins and 1 loss. They will face Hong Kong for a spot in the finals.
The Korean team, consisting of Jeong Ho-won (35, Gangwon-do Disabled Sports Association), Kim Han-su (29, Gyeonggi-do), and Choi Ye-jin (30, Chungnam Workplace Sports Club, all classified as Sports Grade B3), defeated Thailand and France 4-1 and 7-1 respectively on the second day of the Boccia Pair (BC3) Group A preliminaries held on the 3rd at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre in Tokyo, Japan. They maintained the momentum from their previous day's overtime 5-2 victory over the United Kingdom in the preliminaries.
Although South Korea lost 2-3 to Greece in the final preliminary match on the afternoon of the 3rd, they advanced to the semifinals as the second place in the group with a 3-1 record. They will compete against Hong Kong, the first place team in Group B, on the morning of the 4th for a place in the finals.
