Two 5G Plans and One LTE Plan Exclusively for Children... Free EBS Data Pack and Educational Benefits Provided
SK Telecom is launching two 5G plans and one LTE plan for children aged 12 and under, adapting to changing usage patterns such as the spread of online classes and increased smartphone penetration.
First, the 5G plans include the ‘5G ZEM Plan Perfect’ offering 4GB of data for 36,000 KRW per month and the ‘5G ZEM Plan Best’ offering 2GB of data for 26,000 KRW per month.
SK Telecom explained that with the launch of the children-exclusive ZEM Plan, 5G service is now available in the 20,000 KRW range for the first time in the industry. Additionally, for LTE users, the ‘LTE ZEM Plan Best’ is also launched, doubling the data compared to before and providing unlimited voice calls.
The three newly launched children’s plans allow continuous use of internet and messenger services at a certain speed without additional charges even after data is fully used, and offer unlimited voice calls without distinction between landline and mobile phones, ensuring peace of mind for both children and parents.
Moreover, the ‘EBS Data Pack (6,600 KRW per month)’ is provided free of charge, allowing worry-free use of major educational content from EBS, which is expected to contribute to the activation of mobile learning.
Four LTE Plans for Adolescents Launched... Reflecting the Trend of Increased Data Usage
SK Telecom also introduces four new LTE plans exclusively for adolescents, significantly expanding data offerings in consideration of adolescent customers’ usage trends, such as increased online and mobile education and a substantial rise in weekday traffic.
The four newly launched plans offer 2.5GB, 6GB, 12GB, and 100GB of data, and allow continued use at a certain speed without additional charges after the basic data is used up. The ‘0Teen Plan Large’ lets adolescent customers choose one of the most preferred benefits: ‘SKT VIP Benefits’ or ‘Media & Subscription Benefits.’ Both the ‘0Teen Plan Large’ and ‘0Teen Plan Medium Plus’ offer free use of the EBS Data Pack.
Along with the new plans, various benefits are also enhanced. Starting this month, the ZEM app will provide six popular science contents twice a month for free through a partnership with Children’s Science Dong-A. Additionally, middle and high school students using SK Telecom will receive 2GB of data for all applicants through the ‘0Handong’ app’s ‘0Teen Week’ from the 9th to the 23rd, with a lottery offering prizes such as iPads.
Han Myung-jin, Head of SK Telecom’s Marketing Group, said, “In the untact era, students’ data usage patterns are changing significantly,” and added, “We will continue to launch new plans tailored to customer characteristics to enhance customer satisfaction.”
