Ministry of Science and ICT Hosts 'Software Development Security Best Practices Contest'

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 31st that it will hold the "2021 Software (SW) Development Security Best Practices Contest" to widely promote exemplary cases of applying security during software development to software developers.


The submission period is from the 1st to the 30th of next month, and anyone involved in applying software development security at a company can participate in the contest as an individual. To participate, applicants must submit an application form and best practice case via email.


Detailed information can be found in the notices section on the Ministry of Science and ICT and Korea Internet & Security Agency websites, and any inquiries can be directed to the Software Development Security Best Practices Contest Secretariat.


In October, through evaluation based on the appropriateness, excellence, and practical effectiveness of the best practices, three outstanding works will be selected. The Minister of Science and ICT Award (Grand Prize, 1 work) and the Korea Internet & Security Agency President Award (Excellence Award, 2 works) will be presented.


The Ministry of Science and ICT stated, "Through this contest, we hope to spread awareness of software development security and assist software development sites, encouraging many software-related companies and developers to participate so that we can strive to create a safe software development environment."
