"From Alice Dalton Brown to Piazzolla" LG Uplus Unveils Special Content on 'U+Stage'

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] LG Uplus announced on the 30th that it will exclusively provide special content such as art exhibitions and classical festivals to enjoy at home through ‘U+Stage’.

Launched on June 30, U+Stage is a service designed to allow customers to experience culture at home, considering the difficulty of attending exhibitions and performances due to COVID-19. It offers various cultural and artistic content in collaboration with world-renowned performance venues and top artists. Every last Wednesday of the month, diverse performances are introduced on U+tv and U+Mobile TV.

From the 1st of next month until October 25, the exhibition “Alice Dalton Brown, Where Light Stays” held at My Art Museum on Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, will be presented as a digital art exhibition video to enjoy at home together with singer Oksang Dalbit and docent Jung Woo-cheol.

This exhibition features over 80 works, including the original oil painting “Long Golden Day,” which gained popularity as an art print introduced in dramas such as “The World of the Married” and “Stranger.” It is the world’s largest exhibition that looks back on Alice Dalton Brown’s 50 years of artistic work.

Alice Dalton Brown said, “I hope this exhibition will provide a time of rest to breathe and meditate, escaping from the busy city and daily life.”

U+Stage will present the original quintet performance of the Astor Piazzolla Foundation on the last Wednesday of September, the 29th. This performance captures the quintet’s live show in Korea to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Argentine tango artist Astor Piazzolla.

This concert, held in Korea for the first time in two years since the initial visit in 2019, features Piazzolla’s representative pieces such as “Adios Nonino,” “Winter Port,” and tracks from last year’s newly released album “Triunfal,” including “Visuja,” “Camorra II,” and “Decarissimo,” making it a must-see for tango music fans.

Additionally, the Salzburg Festival, eagerly awaited every year by classical music lovers worldwide, can also be experienced. The Salzburg Festival will newly hold its 100th-anniversary classical concerts and opera performances, which were scaled down last year due to COVID-19, both online and offline this year. On U+Stage, you can enjoy 10 representative performances for free, including “Vienna Philharmonic & Andris Nelsons,” “Seodong Poetry Orchestra & Daniel Barenboim,” and operas “Don Giovanni” and “Intolleranza 1960.”
