On the 26th (local time), the death toll from the series of bomb attacks near Kabul Airport, the capital of Afghanistan, exceeded 170, according to a report by US CBS News on the 27th.
CBS cited local officials, reporting that the death toll reached at least 170, with most victims being Afghans.
This is significantly higher compared to the previously reported death toll of 100.
AP News also cited authorities, stating that 169 Afghans have died, but due to difficulties in identifying the victims, it will take a long time to finalize the death toll.
The US military casualties include 13 deaths, among them 10 Marines, and at least 18 wounded.
Meanwhile, The New York Times reported that the US military has resumed flights for civilian evacuation, which had been suspended following the bomb terror. With only four days left until the US troop withdrawal deadline on the 31st, President Biden has firmly stated that there will be no extension of the withdrawal deadline.
