According to industry sources, the Criminal Division 12 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office conducted a search and seizure at Daewoong Pharmaceutical's headquarters in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 26th.
The Criminal Division 12 of the Central District Prosecutors' Office is a department that investigates crimes related to trade secrets. The industry views this search and seizure as part of an investigation into a technology dispute case involving Daewoong Pharmaceutical.
In response, a Daewoong Pharmaceutical official stated, "It is true that the prosecution conducted a search and seizure, but we cannot confirm specific details," and added, "We will sincerely cooperate with the prosecution's investigation."
It is known that this search and seizure by the prosecution is unrelated to the Fair Trade Commission's accusation. Earlier, in March, the Fair Trade Commission filed a complaint with the prosecution, alleging that Daewoong Pharmaceutical abused patent infringement lawsuits to obstruct the sales of a competitor's products. This case is currently under investigation by the Fair Trade Investigation Division of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office.
