[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Regarding the Taliban government's statement that it "wants economic cooperation with Korea," the Blue House stated that it is "closely monitoring changes in the internal situation of Afghanistan."

A Blue House official responded to reporters' questions on the 24th with this statement.

Earlier, the Taliban government expressed in an interview its hope for economic cooperation with Korea and its desire to be recognized as a legitimate government.

When asked whether the Blue House sympathizes with the acceptance of Afghan refugees at domestic U.S. military bases, the official replied, "Currently, we are not included in that."

Regarding Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) Commissioner Jung Eun-kyung's mention of reviewing a 'With Corona' policy, the official said, "We are in close consultation with the KDCA and the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the Blue House will provide related remarks when appropriate," withholding further comments.

When asked about President Moon Jae-in's reaction to the occurrence of sexual harassment victims in the Army following the Air Force and Navy, and the victim's extreme choice, the official said, "There is a feeling of regret regarding that incident," but added, "There were no special instructions or remarks from the President."
