Venture Innovation Drives Dynamic Growth of Korean Economy...Event Attended by Venture Investors, Unicorn Companies, and More
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] President Moon Jae-in will attend the ‘K+ Venture (The 2nd Venture Boom: Achievements and Future)’ event held at the Blue House at 2 p.m. on the 26th.
Im Se-eun, Deputy Spokesperson of the Blue House, stated on the 24th, "The event name ‘K+ Venture’ signifies that the innovation and adventurous spirit of ventures are added to the Korean economy, accelerating the dynamic growth of our economy."
At this event, President Moon plans to encourage entrepreneurs and venture businesspeople who have created the 2nd venture boom despite the COVID-19 crisis. He also intends to express his determination to continue expanding the 2nd venture boom and leap forward as a global venture powerhouse.
Deputy Spokesperson Im explained, "The Moon Jae-in administration made building an innovative startup nation a core national agenda. With the conviction that startups and ventures are the driving force of future growth, it launched the Ministry of SMEs and Startups as the only newly established ministry." She added, "Thanks to the dedicated efforts of our entrepreneurs and venture businesspeople, a market- and private sector-led venture ecosystem has been established, showing both quantitative and qualitative growth."
Deputy Spokesperson Im said, "The capacity for job creation and investment expansion is increasing, and success cases in the global market are growing. This is the 2nd venture boom that has come after about 20 years," adding, "Foreign media also evaluate that ventures and startups are making remarkable progress in the Korean economy."
Meanwhile, venture investors, unicorn companies, and entrepreneurs and venture businesspeople are scheduled to attend this event. Special lectures are also prepared, including by Ahn Seong-woo, CEO of the unicorn company Zigbang, Ji Seong-bae, CEO of IMM Investment, and Kim Ju-yoon, CEO of Smart Braille Watch Dot.
Deputy Spokesperson Im conveyed, "About 70 people including prospective entrepreneurs, founders, and venture businesspeople will participate online in real time, and questions and answers between the speakers and the audience will continue."
