The Most Purchased Service by Koreans in the First Half of the Year is Naver... Payment Amount 17 Trillion Won

According to app analysis services WiseApp, Retail, and Goods on the 24th, the online services that South Koreans paid for the most in the first half of this year were Naver, Coupang, eBay Korea, Baedal Minjok, 11st, SSG.COM, and Google, in that order.

Naver is estimated to have processed payments totaling 17.7485 trillion KRW in the first half of this year alone. This is a 40.5% increase compared to the estimated payment amount of 12.6322 trillion KRW in the first half of last year. The estimated amount includes payments and top-ups made through Smart Store, Webtoon, music, advertising, and Naver Pay.

Coupang's estimated payment amount for the first half increased by 60.6%, from 10.0363 trillion KRW last year to 16.1175 trillion KRW this year. This figure combines payments made within Coupang and Coupang Eats services.

During the same period, eBay Korea (Gmarket, Auction, Ziggu) recorded an estimated payment amount of 8.834 trillion KRW in the first half of this year, slightly up from 8.8177 trillion KRW in the first half of last year. Baedal Minjok's estimated payment amount for the first half was 8.5591 trillion KRW, marking a 93.8% increase compared to 4.4172 trillion KRW in the first half of last year.

Additionally, the estimated payment amount for 11st in the first half of this year was 6.2883 trillion KRW, and SSG.COM recorded 2.8003 trillion KRW. For Google, the estimated payment amount increased by 69.9% year-on-year, from 1.6289 trillion KRW in the first half of last year to 2.7683 trillion KRW this year.

WiseApp, Retail, and Goods conducted a sample survey of credit card, debit card, and bank transfer payments made by South Koreans aged 20 and over. However, corporate cards, corporate bank transfers, and inter-company transactions were not included.
