Hampyeong-gun Launches Camping Kit 'Hampyeong Toktok' to Meet Growing Demand from Campers

[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] In response to the demand from campers seeking non-face-to-face leisure activities due to COVID-19, a camping kit called ‘Hampyeong Toktok’ that can be ordered online has been launched.

On the 23rd, Hampyeong County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 24th that a ‘Local Food Camping Kit Launch Win-Win Cooperation Business Agreement Ceremony’ was held at the county office’s small conference room, attended by Lee Sang-ik, the mayor of Hampyeong, representatives from the local food agricultural cooperative corporation, and local camping site representatives.

‘Hampyeong Toktok’ is a linked product of the 4·4·8 Hampyeong Tourism Project (a project to stay 4 hours in the forest, 4 hours by the sea, and 8 hours at accommodation in Hampyeong), designed to enhance the Hampyeong County brand image by combining local agricultural, livestock, and marine products with cultural and tourism products.

The camping kit contains foods necessary for camping, including leafy vegetables directly produced by farms, rice, and meat, and can be delivered directly to campers at the check-in time by pre-ordering via phone or online.

This not only reduces the hassle of shopping at large supermarkets but also minimizes face-to-face contact through online ordering, allowing safe camping in the ‘With Corona’ era.

Currently, it is being piloted at two of the six local camping sites, ‘Byeolbyeol Camping’ and ‘Dolmeori Auto Camping Site,’ and is expected to expand to local tourist spots such as Jupo Hanok Village and the drive-in theater in the future.

Mayor Lee Sang-ik said, “‘Hampyeong Toktok’ is composed of agricultural products grown locally, so tourists can receive them fresh, and it will provide new sales channels for local farmers. The county will also actively support necessary administrative matters.”
