[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] The Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA) announced that it will hold the second half of 2021 'TIPA ValueUP Demo Day' online on the 25th to revitalize investment attraction for SMEs conducting research and development (R&D).
TIPA ValueUP Demo Day will feature nine promising investment companies in fields such as carbon reduction, energy, and manufacturing, along with about 10 investors, and will be held online considering the resurgence of COVID-19.
TIPA ValueUP is an investment attraction capacity-building support program designed to support the commercialization of innovative products and technologies developed by small and medium-sized ventures through R&D. Since 2018, it has discovered and nurtured a total of 159 companies, and to provide participating companies with more investment opportunities, it regularly holds domestic venture capital (VC) investment briefings called 'ValueUP Round' and global investment briefings for overseas investors.
The companies participating in this TIPA ValueUP Demo Day include ㈜Iyucnc, a manufacturer of eco-friendly water-based step thermal insulation coatings that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and ㈜Rio Energy, a manufacturer of flow-accelerated small hydropower generation devices using wasted water, among nine companies. On the day of the event, corporate presentations (IR) will be conducted for investors using online streaming.
Participating companies will have networking time with various investors during the event using an online video conferencing system, in addition to IR for VCs. Also, anyone can watch the IR pitching videos of the presenting companies in real time by accessing the webinar platform on the day of the event, and investment institutions will be provided with corporate IR materials.
Choi Chang-sik, CEO of ㈜Iyucnc, said, "Interest in energy-saving materials has increased due to the revision of the Green Building Act," adding, "This opportunity to meet various investors will be very helpful for our company, which is leading the market."
Lee Jae-hong, President of TIPA, said, "We operate various programs to revitalize investment attraction for R&D companies," and added, "We will continue to do our best to support innovative growth through investment attraction for small and medium ventures conducting R&D."
