[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Son Seon-hee] Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum announced on the 22nd, "Moderna has informed the government that it will supply a total of 7 million doses of vaccines to Korea over the next two weeks."

On the morning of the same day, Prime Minister Kim presided over the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters meeting at the Government Seoul Office and said, "The government will continue to do its best to ensure that more vaccines are introduced as quickly as possible so that there are no disruptions in the nationwide vaccination."

He also encouraged vaccination participation, saying, "Yesterday, the first-dose vaccination rate surpassed 50%, and the number of people who have completed the second dose has exceeded 11 million," adding, "Only when one more citizen completes vaccination can the day of freedom from COVID-19 be brought forward."

Meanwhile, addressing the Health and Medical Industry Labor Union, which has announced a general strike on the 2nd of next month, he said, "I understand the feelings of healthcare workers considering a strike, including the pain, fatigue, and unfair treatment they must have felt on the front lines of the war against COVID-19," but urged restraint, stating, "Now, facing the threat of the virus, it is necessary to gather wisdom through dialogue rather than confrontation and conflict."
